Canvas Math
Handwriting in, live math out

Write the math by hand.
Watch it get solved.

Handwrite a problem with a stylus or your finger. Canvas Math reads your ink, solves it exactly, explains it, and graphs it — live, as you write. The understanding stays in your hand; the AI works alongside it.

Canvas Math — write it, solve it, watch it move

Real and unedited — handwriting read and answered in your own ink, then graphs that draw themselves on, a 3D surface you can turn, a dark writing surface, and the teach-and-prove modes. One canvas, from arithmetic to research.

Not a chatbot for math. An intelligent canvas for your math.

You write the math; the environment works alongside you — reading your handwriting, computing it exactly, drawing it, and teaching it, right where you wrote it. No prompts to type, no copy-paste. The intelligence is ambient: it amplifies the work your hand is doing instead of doing the thinking for you, so you get the answer and still understand it. Just you and your math, with intelligence built into the page.

Write it, don't type it

Draw math with a stylus or your finger, the way you do on paper — fractions, integrals, matrices. No equation editor, no menus, no prompt box. Working it out by hand is where the understanding happens, so that's where you stay. It reads your handwriting the instant you pause.

It does the math — exactly

A real symbolic engine computes the answer and writes it back in your own ink. The AI explains; the numbers are never guessed or rounded by a model.

And it comes alive

The moment a graph appears it draws itself on, vector fields drift, a surface turns in 3D. Tap any result to Visualize it, tap again to Animate — the picture moves, but every point stays exact.

It doesn't just answer. It teaches — out loud, by hand.

Ask Learn Mode any topic and it works the problem by hand on the canvas — circling, underlining, drawing the connections — and explains as it writes. Tap Hear it teach to listen.

Canvas Math — Learn Mode

Everything you write turns into something you can see.

Canvas Math doesn't just answer — it draws the math. The same engine handles a parabola, a phase portrait, a complex function, or a 3D surface, and every pixel is computed from the math, not faked.

Tap to Visualize

Write an expression and a small chip appears at the end of your ink. Tap it and the full picture commits to the page — the right kind of graph for what you wrote, picked automatically.

Tap to Animate

When the math moves, an Animate pill shows up. Tap it and a Riemann sum fills in, a Taylor series lands term by term, a linear map morphs the grid. Scrub it back and forth; the numbers never drift.

Visuals that move with the math

Curves draw themselves on, vector fields and streamlines flow, a root pulses, a 3D surface rotates on the GPU. Motion only ever touches paint and timing — it never moves a computed point.

From arithmetic to research

Plots and tangent lines, Riemann sums and ODE phase portraits, complex-plane domain coloring, solids of revolution, eigenvector morphs, graphs and number lines. One engine, basic to PhD.

A voice that teaches — and discovers

Ask Learn Mode any topic and it works the problem by hand on the canvas, narrating out loud. Or let it perform: it picks something surprising and discovers it in front of you, sliding terms across the equals and erasing what cancels — every step checked by the math engine first.

Take it anywhere

Any stylus works — Apple Pencil, S Pen, Surface Pen — with real pressure and palm rejection (and tilt shading on Apple Pencil), or just a finger, on iPad, Android, or Windows tablets and phones. Export to PNG, SVG, PDF, LaTeX, a runnable Python script, Markdown, or MathML in a tap.

A canvas you'll actually want to write on.

Under the intelligence is a genuinely good place to think — expressive ink, an endless page, and notebooks that stay out of your way.

An ink studio, not a text box

Fountain pen, marker, brush, soft pencil, charcoal, highlighter — every brush is pressure-aware. Write in a full color palette or living gradient inks, on grid, lined, dotted, or blank paper.

An endless canvas

Pan and zoom a surface that grows as you work — room for a whole derivation. Hide the toolbar for a clean sheet, and dock or resize the result panels wherever they suit you.

Notebooks that keep up

Every page autosaves. Keep many notes at once, search across your handwriting and its answers, archive what's finished, and export or back up everything in a tap.

Common questions

How do I solve handwritten math?

Open Canvas Math, write the problem with a stylus or your finger, and pause. It reads your handwriting on the spot, computes the exact answer with a real symbolic engine — not an AI guess — and writes it back in your own ink. Tap the result to graph and animate it.

What is the best app to handwrite and graph math?

Canvas Math is handwriting-native: you write the problem by hand on any tablet and it recognizes it, solves it exactly, and graphs it live where you wrote it — with vector fields, phase portraits, and 3D surfaces that move as you write. Camera-OCR and type-in-box tools structurally can't do that.

Is Canvas Math a Photomath, Symbolab, or Wolfram alternative?

Yes, for handwriting-first work. Instead of a camera or a typing box, you write naturally with a stylus. A computer-algebra system computes every answer exactly, the AI only explains, and results turn into live, moving visuals — built to help you understand the math, not just hand you an answer.
